What a deed is, and where the copy lives

A deed names the property and the people on it. File the scan you already have. The vault stores it.

Household document paperwork

A deed is the paper that says who holds a piece of property. It is not a mortgage, and it is not a tax bill. It names the property and the people on it.

File the scan you already have. The vault stores it. It does not tell you whether the deed is valid.

Households often keep the deed in a safe, a folder from closing, or an email from a title company. If a spouse cannot put a hand on it in a week, it is not filed.

The legal description of the property

The names as they appear on the document

The county recorder or office printed on the page

The date the document was recorded, if it shows one

Attach the person responsible for that property and a phone number you would actually call. If the page is faded, upload the photo anyway. A flag is better than a missing file.

Rixons does not draft a deed, review a chain of title, or say what you should sign. It keeps the copy you uploaded where the household can find it.
